Craig & Alyssa
We would like to welcome Craig and Alyssa to our blog today! This couple got married at Brahman Hills in the Midlands. We always love this venue as it has so much to offer to it’s guests and clients. The difference with this wedding is where and when do you get to shoot a Maclaren and a Bentley at the same time? The mist did settle down upon the venue for the entire day but we were fortunate that it didn’t rain. When we arrived my second photographer went to the men whilst I shot the bride at the bridal salon. The ladies looked extravagant with their makeup all beautifully done wearing their floral silk gowns. The dress made by Hanrie Lues was unique and gorgeous to say the least. She never disappoints! Alyssa looked calm and I could see she was expectant for the day. The bridal prep went all according to plan and the bride left the salon in a horse and carriage. By the chapel the horse and carriage looked like a movie set with all the mist. The Pastor of the ceremony gave a good sermon and Craig could not keep his eyes off Alyssa as she stood next to him. You could see she was the apple of his eye. At the end of the ceremony the pastor tripped on a speaker box and I managed to save him from falling. It was all laughs and we went up to the venue for some canapes’ and refreshments. After the family photos I took the retinue to the driveway to shoot some photos on the carriage. We then went to the barn to get some group photos with the groomsmen and bridesmaids. When I got Alyssa and Craig on their own the mist’s drops were getting heavier and I pushed the couple until they started getting cold and wet. I applaud them for doing their best under the conditions we were shooting in.
The reception was beautiful and well thought out. The decor gave a very classy feel and it felt spacious enough with a large dance floor with “Parsons” lit up in front of the main table. The speeches were all heartfelt as they praised Craig for his entrepreneurial skills and for honouring such a beautiful wife. Craig himself shed a tear when he told her she was the love of his life and made him the man he is today. The food was delicious and the dessert table looked like art on display. I ended the night off with a night shot outside the venue, in the mist. I would just like to thank Craig and Alyssa for giving us this day to capture and I wish them only success in their future together!
