Providence Country Estate is one of the best-known wedding venues in the KZN Midlands, and it is a venue we always enjoy returning to. It is a working Midlands farm with gardens, forest and open fields, which gives couples a relaxed countryside day and gives us a huge variety of places to photograph.

Photographing a Wedding at Providence

Getting Ready

Brides often get ready in the main house at Providence, which has lovely spaces for dresses, details and family moments. Grooms have got ready at a golf resort close by, so we cover the boys first and then head across to the girls.

A Garden Ceremony by the Forest

The garden ceremony area near the forest is beautiful: soft, even light for faces, and a green backdrop that never dates. Providence also has indoor ceremony options, which takes the stress out of Midlands weather. The canapé spread after the ceremony is worth a photo of its own.

Portraits Beyond the Forest

For the creative shoot, the field just beyond the forest is our go-to. There is room for a big, fun bridal party, and when it is time for just the two of you, the open space and golden-hour light let us take our time and capture real, relaxed moments.

The Reception

The receptions we have photographed at Providence have been an absolute blast, with heartfelt speeches and a dance floor in full swing. The catering is a highlight for guests too.
