Maroupi Wedding Photographer
Maroupi in Ballito is a North Coast venue we have photographed more than once, and each wedding there has had its own character, from bright, sunny days to moody, windswept afternoons.
Photographing a Wedding at Maroupi
Getting Ready
Brides have got ready both at the venue and at nearby hotels such as the Fairmont, while grooms have used places in the area like Brentwood in Sheffield. With a second photographer, we can cover both preps and still be at Maroupi well before the ceremony.
The Ceremony
The ceremony space works well for those big reactions as the bride arrives. At one wedding, the bride’s dad surprised her with a horse and carriage to take her to the ceremony, and Maroupi handled it beautifully.
Open-Space Portraits
The landscape around the venue changes over time. On one visit we found the nearby forest had been cut down, so we used the wide open space instead, and it suited our style perfectly. We always scout before the day so we know exactly where to take you.
Coastal Weather
North Coast weather can turn quickly. Overcast skies and strong wind gave Mark and Samantha’s photos a moody, dramatic feel, which is very much our style, and smoke bombs added to the drama. If the weather looks uncertain, we move the creative shoot earlier to make the most of the good light.
