Durban Church Wedding: Brent & Kerry

I would like to welcome Brent and Kerry to our blog this evening! Kerry and Brent got married at the New Apostolic Church in Durban and hosted their beautiful reception at the Teresane Hall in Sydenham. The day was full of expectation and excitement from the moment we arrived at Kerry’s home for the bridal prep.

Bridal Prep at the Van der Westhuizen Home

Kerry’s mom had a huge chandelier hanging in the middle of the staircase, a magnificent hero piece for the house. Kerry and her bridesmaids all had specially made silk pyjamas with “bride” and “bridesmaid” written on the back. Kerry Leigh looked like a supermodel, with her makeup done professionally.

We had lots of fun with the girls, with pillow fights and plenty of photos. Kerry looked like a vision in her beautiful dress, and the dramatic light coming into the room gave me all the shots I wanted. Brent was looking handsome himself and had some fun times with my assistant Wayne.

A Rolls Royce Arrival and Church Ceremony

The church was filled to capacity, and the bride arrived in a stunning Rolls Royce. Pure style! When Kerry entered, Brent could not hold back his tears: the day he had been dreaming of had finally arrived. He met Kerry’s Dad halfway and then led Kerry the rest of the way down the aisle to the altar.

The pastor gave a beautiful service and spoke so well about Brent’s responsibilities and the true meaning of love.

Bridal Party Portraits at uShaka

After the service, I took the bridal retinue to uShaka for the creative shoot. We had so much fun together, and everyone listened to everything I asked of them.

A Reception Full of Music and Dancing

At the reception, we were met with a choreographed entrance dance, and everybody got into the dancing mood. I must say, the groomsmen have got some moves!

During the speeches, Kerry’s late brother was remembered, and I could see how much the entire room loved him. Brent’s dad changed the words of a worship song and played it to bless the couple in the best way he knows how.

There was a live band, and not long after the speeches we were cutting the cake, tossing the garter and bouquet and having a great time. This was definitely a wedding to be remembered! I would like to thank Brent and Kerry for allowing us to capture such a special day in their lives, and we wish them all the best in their future together!
