Braeside Wedding in Ballito: Cameron & Carla

I would like to welcome Cameron and Carla to our blog today! This couple tied the knot at Braeside in Ballito on a lovely sunny morning, with perfect weather for a wedding.

Groomsmen Prep in Ballito

I began my shoot with Cameron and the groomsmen at a local guest house in Ballito, and the guys played along with every instruction I gave them. We played some pool, advertised Corona and helped each other with the ties. Cameron and Carla had bought each groomsman a gift to go with his tie, which made their morning extra special!

Bridal Prep Around the Corner

After I had finished with the boys, I drove to the girls, who were literally around the corner! They were super busy having their makeup and hair done. The girls were lovely to work with, and Carla was calm and collected.

The dress was beautiful, and I tried something different from my usual shots by photographing it at the top of the stairs. I did a similar shot of Carla in the same spot. Because the light was far too bright for such a large group, I decided to photograph the bridal party at the venue instead.

An Outdoor Ceremony at Braeside

At the venue, the décor was set up beautifully and everyone was eager for Carla’s arrival. Cameron was full of nerves, but his groomsmen comforted him and became his strength for the morning. When Carla came through the entrance, Cameron could not take his eyes off her.

The minister shared a great sermon, and even though it was a hot day, Cameron and Carla braved the direct sunlight, gazing at each other in love. After the vows and their first kiss, we headed up the aisle for some refreshments before calling all the family for photos.

Golden-Hour Portraits

For the creative shoot, I took the bridal party to the Hola trails, where I found some raw logs piled on top of each other. I got the bridal party up on them, but the wind was too strong, even on the trails, so I took everyone back to the venue, where I knew we could still get great shots.

In the golden hour, the sunlight did not fail me, and I captured some amazing images of just Cameron and Carla. They were both so photogenic!

A Fun-Filled Reception

The reception was a load of fun, and I made new friends from different countries. The speeches were heartfelt and the food was delicious! Carla’s dad shared stories of her sporting escapades and how proud he was of the two of them. It was a special moment.

I would just like to thank Carla and Cameron for entrusting such a special day to my care, and I wish them only success in their future together!
