Fordoun Spa Wedding: Taylor & Kerwin

I would like to welcome Taylor & Kerwin to our blog this morning! Taylor and Kerwin got married at Fordoun Spa in Nottingham Road in the KZN Midlands, a venue that has become known as a picturesque wedding destination with so much to offer. The day started off with amazing weather, and we were delighted to see Fordoun’s newly renovated cabins, chapel and reception area.

A Classic White and Velvet Red Wedding

When we arrived at the chapel, we got to work straight away! The theme was classic white with crystal, bronze and velvet red undertones, and the bridesmaids’ velvet red dresses carried it through beautifully. When I saw Taylor in her dress, she truly was a vision!

The Chapel Ceremony at Fordoun

Everything went well with the bridal and groom prep, and we then moved to the chapel for the ceremony. There were many wet eyes inside that chapel, and you could feel Kerwin’s excitement as Taylor was escorted down the aisle.

The priest did a great job with his sermon and spoke so well, sharing lots of wisdom about true marriage and God’s original design. After the signing of the register and a great first kiss, we stepped out into bright sunshine, and the canapés were just calling our names.

The cake was cut during canapés, and I could see the guests catching up on each other’s lives.

Bridal Party and Couple Portraits

After the family photos at the chapel, I took the retinue to the south side of the estate and photographed everyone on the open fields. The girls were super classy and knew exactly how to bring their A game, while the guys were full of fun and listened to everything we asked of them.

For the couple shoot, I took Taylor and Kerwin to the entrance and photographed Taylor under the umbrella of trees, before moving them to the dam for some intimate shots. The light at that time was just magical, with so much contrast boosting all my midtones.

A Reception Full of Laughter

At the reception, the retinue entered with a bang and dancing was enjoyed by all. We had a great MC, who was also a professional comedian, and he had everyone in hysterics! The speeches were all fantastically prepared and the couple was so well spoken of.

I would just like to thank Kerwin and Taylor for allowing us to capture such a special day, and wish them only success in their future together!
