As a Durban wedding photographer and videographer, we have had the privilege of capturing weddings at some incredible venues across KwaZulu-Natal, and Willow Way Manor remains one of our favourites. Its picturesque gardens, stunning architecture and relaxed atmosphere provide endless opportunities for natural, authentic wedding photography.

The day began with excitement and anticipation as family and friends gathered to celebrate. The bridal preparations were filled with laughter, heartfelt moments and those quiet emotional memories that make wedding mornings so special. From the final touches of makeup to the emotional reactions of loved ones, every detail added to the story of the day.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful surroundings of Willow Way Manor, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. As a documentary-style wedding photographer in Hillcrest and Kloof, these genuine moments are always our favourite to capture. The smiles, tears and heartfelt reactions tell a story that can never be recreated.

Following the ceremony, we explored the grounds of Willow Way Manor with the newlyweds. The gardens, natural light and elegant setting created the perfect backdrop for timeless wedding portraits. Our approach is always to keep things relaxed and natural, allowing couples to enjoy their wedding day while we capture authentic moments that reflect who they are.

As the sun began to set over Hillcrest, guests enjoyed a beautiful reception filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter and celebration. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

Mr & Mrs Lott’s wedding was a wonderful reminder that the most meaningful wedding photographs are not about poses or trends, but about genuine connection, emotion and the people who matter most. Our true-to-tone editing style ensures that every image remains timeless and authentic for generations to come.

Surrounded by family, friends, and the natural beauty of KwaZulu-Natal, their wedding day was filled with genuine emotion, heartfelt moments, and the kind of joy that makes documenting weddings such a privilege. As a KZN wedding photographer, it’s always special to capture a couple whose connection is so natural and authentic.

Harrington House provided the perfect setting for their wedding day. With its elegant surroundings, beautiful architecture, and relaxed atmosphere, the venue created a stunning backdrop for both photography and film. Every corner offered beautiful opportunities to create timeless images while allowing the day to unfold naturally.

From the excitement of the morning preparations to the emotional ceremony and unforgettable celebration that followed, Sarah and Evan embraced every moment. Their focus was never on perfection but rather on being fully present with one another and the people they love most. Those are often the moments that create the most meaningful photographs.

Our approach to wedding photography is rooted in authenticity and storytelling. Rather than directing every moment, we aim to document the day as it naturally unfolds while creating elegant portraits that will remain timeless for decades to come. Sarah and Evan’s wedding was a perfect example of why we love documentary-style wedding photography combined with beautiful natural light portraits.

As the sun began to set, we were treated to the most incredible golden light, creating the perfect conditions for romantic portraits around the venue. These quiet moments together allowed Sarah and Evan to pause, reflect on the day, and simply enjoy being newly married.

It was an honour to document this beautiful Harrington House wedding and preserve these memories for generations to come.

Sarah and Evan, thank you for trusting Conway Photo & Film to tell your story. We wish you a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures together.

Getting Ready at Brahman Hills

Our morning started at the beautiful chapel overlooking the man-made lake, where every detail of the ceremony setup was elegant. The reception was set up in the barn venue nearest to the Salon, ready for the celebration later in the day.

The guys were getting ready in one of the nearby cottages, so we headed there first to photograph Lennard and his groomsmen in their tailor-made suits. They looked sophisticated and well groomed, and were a pleasure to work with.

From there we crossed to the opposite side of the valley to join Eileen and her family. There was so much excitement in the air when we arrived, with everyone busy with their attire. Eileen was completely relaxed while her makeup was done, and her dress was extravagant, with so much detail!

The cottage rooms have stayed true to their original character, which gave us lots of textures to work with. The girls were a great team and we had so much fun with the first shoot of the day.

An Emotional Chapel Ceremony

The ceremony went according to plan. As Eileen walked down the aisle with her Mom and Dad by her side, Lennard just could not hold back his tears anymore. He was overwhelmed with joy, and it is exactly these genuine moments that we love to capture as documentary-style wedding photographers.

The Pastor gave a great sermon and kept the service short, leaving plenty of time for Eileen and Lennard to share their vows with each other. After the signing of the register and the first kiss, the sun came out for a great exit with showers of petals and laughter.

Bridal Portraits in the Nottingham Road Countryside

We took the couple to a field close by, and everyone in the retinue did a great job of taking direction from us. As soon as we had finished with the bridal couple, a mist started covering the mountainside and we all headed into the barn for some refreshments.

A Beautiful Barn Reception

The reception was so beautifully done, with the Schunemann surname cut out behind the couple. It was the perfect setting for an evening of celebration with family and friends.

Eileen and Lennard, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a great day in your lives!

Wedding Morning Preparations at the Family Home

The morning started with the whole family working hard, preparing the vegetables, the meat, the rice and everything in between. All the pots were busy as everyone knuckled down for the main event. Some of the produce was grown at Duma’s home, and the younger men had already started with the party vibes.

The tent was well laid out and there was not a cloud in the sky, giving this couple perfect weather for their wedding day.

Hilltop Couple Portraits

As midday approached, I saw Keneilwe for the first time in her beautiful dress, looking like a supermodel and ready for our shoot. I took the couple to the top of the hill for their portraits, where there were endless mountains as far as the eye could see. I battled a bit with the harsh midday sun, but managed to work around it and still got some amazing shots.

A Swazi Traditional Wedding Celebration

When we arrived back, the festivities began with a dance from the house to the tent. The maidens walked in front of the bride, with the bride’s family walking behind. After the first procession came Duma and all the men, dressed as warriors to impress the bride-to-be.

There was dancing, singing and celebration, with lots of ululating and cheers of excitement as the wedding festivities took place. A few pastors shared from the Word of God and family members gave speeches. After some photos, we were spoilt by a team that specialises in traditional dance, and they gave us a fantastic show!

This wedding is definitely one I will never forget. Duma and Keneilwe have so much chemistry together, and it was a privilege to be part of such a special day. Thank you, Duma and Keneilwe, for allowing us to share in your amazing day, and we wish you all the best in your future together!

Getting Ready in Ballito

The morning was off to a great start, with all the details already finished when we arrived. The guys were super excited for the day and our groomsmen prep went according to plan.

The bridal prep was done at the Fairmont Hotel, and Helisha looked so radiant. Her dress was so elegant, with every detail wonderfully made by Jeanelle L’Amour Bridal. After a successful shoot at the hotel, we made our way to the venue.

The Ceremony at Maroupi

When Helisha made her way down the aisle, Ian could not take his eyes off his beautiful bride. He looked like a boy in a candy shop, so excited for his prize! The ceremony was beautifully done and the vows they shared were just as special.

Open-Field Couple Portraits

During the creative shoot, we were a bit surprised to find that the local forest had been cut down, but we took advantage of all the open space it gave us. The scenery was perfect for the style of shooting we were looking for, and Ian and Helisha handled James’s and my directions very well.

By the time we got back to the reception the weather had started to change, so we were fortunate to have had such good light during the creative shoot.

A Beautifully Planned Reception

The reception was wonderfully orchestrated, with everything following the itinerary as planned. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, and we want to thank Ian and Helisha for allowing us to be part of such a special day!

Dan or Matt?

When we arrived, I first got confused between Dan and his twin brother Matt, as they are extremely identical! So I called the wrong brother Dan… Anyway, after a lot of laughs, I could slowly tell the two of them apart.

Getting Ready

Dan and the guys got ready in light grey suits with burgundy ties, while Bonnie and her bridesmaids sipped bubbly in their matching robes. Even the little dog got in on the action and joined the girls.

A Ceremony in the Forest

The ceremony was held under the tall trees, with wooden benches lining the aisle and an arch of deep pink and burgundy flowers waiting at the end. The bridesmaids wore a mix of jewel tones, from berry to emerald, and the dog made another appearance in a flower crown. After the first kiss, Bonnie and Dan walked back down the aisle to cheers from their guests.

Coloured Smoke, White Horses and Misty Hills

For our creative shoot we had coloured smoke with the bridal party, white horses in the fields, and a soft mist rolling over the hills and the dam. It made for some of my favourite portraits of the two of them.

A Reception Full of Colour

Lucinda transformed the reception with teal napkins, black menus, pink candles and lush burgundy florals, finished off with a “Better Together” neon sign. Under the fairy lights we had speeches, the first dance and plenty of dancing to end off the night.

Bonnie and Dan, thank you for letting us be part of your day!

A Rainy Morning at Haycroft

The day started with the rain falling and stopping, and then falling and stopping again. Because of the unpredictable weather, the venue decided to host the guests in the chapel.

Nicole was a beautiful bride and looked gorgeous in her Hanrie Lues gown! Her girls were super supportive and made her feel so special. One thing I love about this venue is its authentic rustic look. You can shoot anywhere, and the textures just jump out at you.

The Chapel Ceremony

Rob seemed like a gracious and gentle soul who just adores Nicole. When she walked down the aisle, you could see how much love he has for his bride. The priest did a profound job, and before we knew it, the service had ended and we were preparing for the grand exit.

Cheers rang out all around as Rob and Nicole walked through a rain of petals, with everyone so excited for them!

Family Photos by the Lake and Forest Portraits

We made our way down to the lake for canapés and drinks, and I decided to shoot the family photos near the water. I then called the retinue for the creative shoot and we started the long trek across the dam to an open field. We popped the champagne and had lots of fun in the cold. The girls were very brave!

Inside the forest, I could see we were running out of light because the weather had changed again. I knew our cameras could handle the forest, so we spent the next 35 minutes there with just Rob and Nicole. They were so patient with us and I appreciated that a lot.

A Rustic Reception and Boardwalk Night Shoot

When we got to the reception, Haycroft never let us down with its beautiful décor and lighting. The tables were set out in long rows, which made a lovely change from the usual round tables.

The speeches were all heartfelt and gave us more background on Rob and Nicole’s families. There was a bit of roasting from Rob’s groomsmen, but it was all said in love, with lots of laughs all around. I ended the night with a night shoot on the boardwalk, and Nicole looked simply stunning!

Thank you so much, Rob and Nicole, for entrusting your day to our care. We wish you only the best in your future endeavours!

Getting Ready in Ballito and Sheffield

Mark got ready with the boys at Brentwood in Sheffield, while Samantha got ready with the girls at the venue. There was so much excitement in the air that morning.

Samantha’s Dad also had a surprise in store. When she came out to make her way to the aisle, a horse and carriage was waiting to take his princess to the church!

An Emotional Ceremony at Maroupi

Mark could not hold back his emotions when he saw Samantha make her grand entrance. You could see that he adored her! The ceremony was beautifully performed by the local minister, and we got to witness Mark and Sam sharing their personal vows with each other.

Moody Portraits with Smoke Bombs

As I mentioned, the weather changed drastically, but from experience we knew how to make the most of it. We still got a beautiful creative shoot, with some lovely smoke bomb effects adding to the drama.

A Fun-Filled Reception

The reception was so much fun. Every speaker had only good things to say about the couple and spoke about how proud they were of them for taking this big step together. The first dance was well rehearsed, and by the end of the night we felt like part of a bigger family.

I would like to thank Sam and Mark for allowing us to capture such a special day in their lives. We wish them only success in their future!

A Classic White and Velvet Red Wedding

When we arrived at the chapel, we got to work straight away! The theme was classic white with crystal, bronze and velvet red undertones, and the bridesmaids’ velvet red dresses carried it through beautifully. When I saw Taylor in her dress, she truly was a vision!

The Chapel Ceremony at Fordoun

Everything went well with the bridal and groom prep, and we then moved to the chapel for the ceremony. There were many wet eyes inside that chapel, and you could feel Kerwin’s excitement as Taylor was escorted down the aisle.

The priest did a great job with his sermon and spoke so well, sharing lots of wisdom about true marriage and God’s original design. After the signing of the register and a great first kiss, we stepped out into bright sunshine, and the canapés were just calling our names.

The cake was cut during canapés, and I could see the guests catching up on each other’s lives.

Bridal Party and Couple Portraits

After the family photos at the chapel, I took the retinue to the south side of the estate and photographed everyone on the open fields. The girls were super classy and knew exactly how to bring their A game, while the guys were full of fun and listened to everything we asked of them.

For the couple shoot, I took Taylor and Kerwin to the entrance and photographed Taylor under the umbrella of trees, before moving them to the dam for some intimate shots. The light at that time was just magical, with so much contrast boosting all my midtones.

A Reception Full of Laughter

At the reception, the retinue entered with a bang and dancing was enjoyed by all. We had a great MC, who was also a professional comedian, and he had everyone in hysterics! The speeches were all fantastically prepared and the couple was so well spoken of.

I would just like to thank Kerwin and Taylor for allowing us to capture such a special day, and wish them only success in their future together!

Groom Prep and Champagne Popping

We started off with the boys for a quick groom prep, then headed to Janine for some champagne popping and dancing.

A Ceremony Led by David’s Dad

David’s dad married them, and it was a beautiful, emotional ceremony.

Portraits in the Gardens of Cranford

While the guests enjoyed some good food, we headed out to create in the beautiful gardens of Cranford.

Speeches, a Bouquet Toss and Dancing

We then headed to the reception for some good food, emotional speeches, the craziest bouquet toss I’ve ever experienced and some really great dancing.

Bridal Prep at the Van der Westhuizen Home

Kerry’s mom had a huge chandelier hanging in the middle of the staircase, a magnificent hero piece for the house. Kerry and her bridesmaids all had specially made silk pyjamas with “bride” and “bridesmaid” written on the back. Kerry Leigh looked like a supermodel, with her makeup done professionally.

We had lots of fun with the girls, with pillow fights and plenty of photos. Kerry looked like a vision in her beautiful dress, and the dramatic light coming into the room gave me all the shots I wanted. Brent was looking handsome himself and had some fun times with my assistant Wayne.

A Rolls Royce Arrival and Church Ceremony

The church was filled to capacity, and the bride arrived in a stunning Rolls Royce. Pure style! When Kerry entered, Brent could not hold back his tears: the day he had been dreaming of had finally arrived. He met Kerry’s Dad halfway and then led Kerry the rest of the way down the aisle to the altar.

The pastor gave a beautiful service and spoke so well about Brent’s responsibilities and the true meaning of love.

Bridal Party Portraits at uShaka

After the service, I took the bridal retinue to uShaka for the creative shoot. We had so much fun together, and everyone listened to everything I asked of them.

A Reception Full of Music and Dancing

At the reception, we were met with a choreographed entrance dance, and everybody got into the dancing mood. I must say, the groomsmen have got some moves!

During the speeches, Kerry’s late brother was remembered, and I could see how much the entire room loved him. Brent’s dad changed the words of a worship song and played it to bless the couple in the best way he knows how.

There was a live band, and not long after the speeches we were cutting the cake, tossing the garter and bouquet and having a great time. This was definitely a wedding to be remembered! I would like to thank Brent and Kerry for allowing us to capture such a special day in their lives, and we wish them all the best in their future together!

Groom and Bridal Prep

The morning began with me and my video team photographing the groom prep at Tyrell’s house. Everything went smoothly, and I just loved all the detail in his suit.

We then moved on to Hena at her family home, where everyone was busy getting ready. I tried to shoot some of the details in the outer yard, but the family dog got a little over-enthusiastic and stole our coconut, so we moved to another part of the house! Hena looked breathtaking and simply shone in all her jewellery. We had a few traditional ceremonies in the lounge before moving on to the massive hall at The Winchester.

A Colourful Ceremony at The Winchester

The size of The Winchester’s new hall took me by surprise! We all arrived in style in some beautiful sports and coupé cars. The entrance of both families was exciting and full of colour, from the saris to the beautiful dresses and suits and the overhanging chadaar. Everything looked rich and beautiful!

The ceremony was well performed by the priest, and I loved the way the entire family is always involved.

Portraits at the Bluff Whaling Station

After the ceremony and reception, we headed off for the creative shoot at the old Bluff Whaling Station, an abandoned military base on the Bluff with bullet holes in the walls said to date back to World War 2. It was a photographer’s dream come true, and we were super spoilt with location after location. We could not get enough!

I would just like to thank Tyrell and Hena for the opportunity to capture such a special day in their lives. We wish you only the best that life has to offer!

Groomsmen Prep in Ballito

I began my shoot with Cameron and the groomsmen at a local guest house in Ballito, and the guys played along with every instruction I gave them. We played some pool, advertised Corona and helped each other with the ties. Cameron and Carla had bought each groomsman a gift to go with his tie, which made their morning extra special!

Bridal Prep Around the Corner

After I had finished with the boys, I drove to the girls, who were literally around the corner! They were super busy having their makeup and hair done. The girls were lovely to work with, and Carla was calm and collected.

The dress was beautiful, and I tried something different from my usual shots by photographing it at the top of the stairs. I did a similar shot of Carla in the same spot. Because the light was far too bright for such a large group, I decided to photograph the bridal party at the venue instead.

An Outdoor Ceremony at Braeside

At the venue, the décor was set up beautifully and everyone was eager for Carla’s arrival. Cameron was full of nerves, but his groomsmen comforted him and became his strength for the morning. When Carla came through the entrance, Cameron could not take his eyes off her.

The minister shared a great sermon, and even though it was a hot day, Cameron and Carla braved the direct sunlight, gazing at each other in love. After the vows and their first kiss, we headed up the aisle for some refreshments before calling all the family for photos.

Golden-Hour Portraits

For the creative shoot, I took the bridal party to the Hola trails, where I found some raw logs piled on top of each other. I got the bridal party up on them, but the wind was too strong, even on the trails, so I took everyone back to the venue, where I knew we could still get great shots.

In the golden hour, the sunlight did not fail me, and I captured some amazing images of just Cameron and Carla. They were both so photogenic!

A Fun-Filled Reception

The reception was a load of fun, and I made new friends from different countries. The speeches were heartfelt and the food was delicious! Carla’s dad shared stories of her sporting escapades and how proud he was of the two of them. It was a special moment.

I would just like to thank Carla and Cameron for entrusting such a special day to my care, and I wish them only success in their future together!

Groomsmen Prep in Hillcrest

The groomsmen got ready at Llewellyn’s mom’s house in Hillcrest, while the girls got ready at the venue. Llewellyn was relaxed when I arrived, and the boys did everything I asked of them without complaining. The groom prep went quickly, and after 40 minutes of shooting I was ready to go and see the bridesmaids.

Spring Bridal Prep at Talloula

When I arrived at Talloula, I noticed how spring was in the air, with flowers everywhere. So, so beautiful! The weather was perfect, and when I saw Carina, she looked like a 1940s Hollywood actress! The girls were easy to work with, and Carina stole the day in such a gorgeous dress.

A Ceremony to Remember

Carina’s son walked her down the aisle to Llewellyn, which was super special, and the groom could not take his eyes off his bride. The ceremony carried a powerful message about not giving up when things get tough, and about making and building something together.

After some beautiful vows and the ceremony formalities, it was time for the grand exit. Petals were flying everywhere, and everyone was so excited that this day had finally come. We cut the cake soon after the ceremony, and I rounded up the families for some family photos.

Smoke Bombs and Couple Portraits

The creative shoot was an absolute blast, with smoke bombs, a few good jokes and an intimate shoot with just the bridal couple. Talloula never fails to deliver, as the venue has everything a photographer could ever need! The time just flew by.

A Glowing Reception

The reception was buzzing, with people catching up on each other’s lives, and it seemed everyone in the hall had played a big part in Llewellyn and Carina’s lives. I loved how the lights of the couple’s initials lit up the back of each speaker’s hair as they gave their speeches. It just added so much to the venue!

The wine was plentiful, and everyone could see how much Llewellyn adored Carina. I would just like to thank this couple for allowing me to be part of such a special day in their lives, and I wish them only success in their future together!

Groomsmen Prep Near Shalwyn

I met the groomsmen at a guest house just up the road from the venue. They were all laughing and full of jokes when I arrived, so I began with whiskeys and open shirts to set the tone. The red ties and dark blue suits worked really well together.

Bridal Prep at Chinook Guest House

After the groom prep, I left for Chinook guest house near the Tala Game Reserve. The girls were all super excited, and Sue was having the final touch-ups of her makeup done. I really enjoyed photographing the flower girls, one of them Sue’s daughter, as they were so cute! Sue handled the camera well, and it wasn’t long before the rest of her family arrived, all excited for the day.

A Forest Chapel Ceremony

The chapel in the forest was an absolute winner! Sawdust covered the ground to keep everyone’s shoes clean, with purple foliage in tiny buckets lining the aisle. Everything looked so picturesque!

The ceremony was beautiful, and Malcolm could hardly catch his breath when he saw Sue walking down the aisle to meet him. The ceremony was led by a husband-and-wife pastor duo, who shared the message together. They did a great job, and after the vows, everyone celebrated with a shower of petals!

Portraits by the Lake and Cane Fields

The retinue were wonderful to work with at the creative shoot and made my job easy. There was beautiful sunlight, and the burnt and cut cane fields really helped with my compositions. The winners were the bridge by the lake and the cabbage patch!

A Reception Full of Laughter

At the reception, pink shots that tasted like strawberry milkshake were going around. The MC had an assistant act out a ship’s safety briefing, and the speeches had lots of dirt on poor Malcolm! The food was delicious, and when it came time to party, all the guests let their hair down and got down to some serious fun.

I would like to thank Malcolm and Sue for allowing us to be part of such a beautiful day! We wish them only success in their future endeavours together.

Bridal Prep at Shalwyn

Wade headed out to Dean, who couldn’t wait to see Robyn walk down the aisle, while I headed to Robyn and the bridal suite. I was welcomed into a room filled with very excited friends and a very excited bride!

Robyn looked gorgeous in her Jeannelle l’Amour dress, and the desert flowers in everyone’s hair were just beautiful. Robyn made her earrings herself, and I loved how they finished off her look. Her little sister’s first-look reaction was the best, as she couldn’t hold back her emotions.

The Ceremony

We then headed to a lovely ceremony, filled with people who were so excited for the couple. When Dean and Robyn shared their first kiss, you could feel the excitement in the air.

Cabbage-Field Portraits at Sunset

The creative session was one for the books! The bridal retinue was so much fun and up for pretty much anything we asked them to do. When it was time for just Robyn and Dean, the magic was turned up and we had some fun running around in the cabbage fields.

The Liveliest Reception

We then headed to the reception, where we witnessed probably the most turned-up party we had ever been to! From start to finish, the place was filled with laughter and with friends and family who were genuinely happy to be there.

Thank you so much, Robyn and Dean, for letting us be part of your magical day!

Getting Ready at Crystal Barns

We started off with Rob in one of the beautifully decorated rooms, and he was anxious to get to his bride. He was holding back his emotions, though, as you’ll see, he no longer could once Laura walked down the aisle!

Their daughter really stole the show at the bridal prep. She loved being in front of the camera, and she and Laura shared some special moments together. Laura looked absolutely stunning, and I knew this was going to be a very special day.

An Emotional Ceremony

The ceremony was so emotionally charged, with many happy tears shared for the couple, a lot of them from Rob as he saw his beautiful bride.

Forest Portraits at Golden Hour

After the ceremony, we headed back to the reception area to quickly cut the cake. Then, while the guests were entertained with good music and lawn games, the bridal retinue and our team headed down to the forest for the creative shoot. These guys were awesome!

We then chased the light for a few romantic moments between Rob and Laura.

A Cosy Barn Reception

We headed back to the beautifully decorated reception area, filled with all my favourite things. The night was full of partying, dancing, warming up by the heaters and a super fun photo booth.

Rob and Laura, I absolutely loved being part of your day. Thank you for choosing us to capture such an important day in your lives!

Groom Prep at Phezulu and Reception Details

Damian and the boys got ready at Phezulu Safari Park, while Charné got ready at Talloula. My lovely assistant, Kayla, and my video team shot the groom prep and had lots of fun with the guys.

The reception décor was finished by the time I arrived, so I started there. The wooden tables and the “Better Together” sign gave the room such a great vibe and elegance, and the fairy lights hanging on the wall always make a great impression.

A Blush-Toned Bridal Prep

Charné and the girls were bubbling when I arrived, and they had everything prepped and ready for me to shoot. The dress was exquisite and the makeup was done beautifully. What I loved about Charné’s dress was that it was slightly off-white, with a soft pink tone that broke from tradition (my favourite!).

I got the girls to have a pillow fight on the bed, and what is a bridal prep without champagne? We had a fun time together, and it wasn’t long before my video team joined me.

A Chapel Ceremony with a Jewish Tradition

The ceremony started on time, and I soon discovered that Damian’s family is of Jewish descent. This made the wedding extra special, as Damian stepped on the wrapped glass to seal their vows. The pastor did a great job with the ceremony, and the vows were heartfelt.

A Photo Bus, Smoke Bombs and Drone Shots

At the entrance of the chapel, a photo bus was waiting for the couple. We quickly got some epic photos in front of and inside the bus before heading out to the gardens for our creative shoot.

The retinue was amazing at following instructions and made my creative shoot a pleasure. We had fun with smoke bombs when we were photographing Damian & Charné alone. The wind didn’t play along with the smoke, but that didn’t stop us from trying to be creative!

We pushed the limits with our drone master, Gerrit, and ended the shoot at the top of Botha’s Hill with some footage for the video. Damian and Charné were champs, listening to everything we asked of them without complaining.

A Reception Full of Cheers

The reception was lit with excitement and plenty of cheers as the couple entered the hall. We heard how hard Damian had worked to win the girl of his dreams and how special he has been to Charné’s family. The speeches from their loved ones shared all the escapades they’ve been on as a couple, and we witnessed Damian’s appreciation as he gave the vote of thanks.

The food was amazing, and as always, Talloula never fails in this department. We captured the intimacy of the first dance, and I saw the love of a dad for his daughter as they shared some special moments on the dance floor. It was a night to be remembered by all!

I would just like to thank Damian and Charné for allowing us to be part of such a special day, and wish you only success in your future together!

Groomsmen Prep in the Forest

Kyle was quite nervous when I arrived, and the guys kept teasing him to help ease his nerves. The forest was a big win for the groomsmen shoot, giving us beautiful light and backgrounds. The groomsmen were perfect for Kyle, and we laughed at everything we did. A great start to the morning!

A Bride in a Custom Floral Gown

The girls were just as nervous. When I opened the bedroom door, I saw this gorgeous, grey-haired bride in a floral gown, busy with the makeup artist. When I saw the grey hair and the beautiful custom-designed dress, I knew this wedding was going to be a winner!

After some champagne and a few fun shots with the girls, I went to photograph the forest while they got changed. When I returned, the rest of the bridal prep went smoothly and we all had fun.

A Tractor Entrance to the Forest Chapel

The forest was filled with guests waiting for the bride to make her appearance. When Angela arrived, she came on the back of a trailer pulled by a farm tractor! The entrance was spellbinding, and Kyle had to swallow his tears as he saw Angela making her way down the aisle with her dad.

The pastor did a great job with the ceremony, and we were even greeted by a herd of cows crossing to the other side of the woods. The vows were intimate and lots of tears were shed.

Cake on the Island and Golden-Light Portraits

After the first kiss and the exit, we went to the chapel above to sign the register, and then to the island in the lake to cut the cake. After the family photos at the lake, I took the retinue to the forest for some smoke bombs and fun!

Angela and Kyle could not keep their hands off each other, and they graciously gave me enough time for some incredible light in the open fields for their portraits. I was truly blessed with great light!

A Reception Full of Toasts

The reception was buzzing with great vibes, speeches and lots of toasts! Angela and Kyle have been through a lot together, and the speeches from Kyle’s groomsmen and friends shared some of those moments. The first dance was intimate, and the DJ quickly heated up the dance floor, with lots of guests letting their hair down. It was a night to remember!

Thank you, Angela and Kyle, for allowing me to capture such a special day. I wish you only success in your future together!

Bridal Prep in the Haycroft Bridal Suite

The bridal suite at Haycroft is pretty perfect, with big, bright windows and gorgeous light. Caitlin’s dress was made by her aunt, and her dad’s reaction was such an emotional and special moment to witness. Her hair and makeup were also done by her friends, who happened to be part of her bridal retinue, which I thought was pretty cool.

Personal Vows and Cheesecake in the Forest

The ceremony was filled with tears and very special vows written by the couple themselves. After the ceremony, the couple cut their cheesecake in the beautiful forest.

Forest Portraits and a Sunset Boat Ride

We then had so much fun in the forest. The bridal retinue was a blast, and Caitlin looked absolutely gorgeous between the trees and the setting sun.

I was so excited when Caitlin told me they wanted to head out onto the water in a tiny boat. With the sun setting over the water, we got some amazing shots!

The Reception

We then headed to the reception for incredible food, so much laughter and a crazy party!

Caitlin and Jarrod, thank you so much for letting me be part of your day. It was such an honour to witness your love story!

Bridal Prep in Everton

I began the morning at Shannon’s beautiful family home in Everton. Laura & Co were there doing her hair and makeup, and they did a great job! Shannon’s mom and dad were so excited, and they got ready at the same place along with Shannon’s brother. The shoot went smoothly, and when the dress was revealed, it was exquisite!

The Ceremony at St John the Divine Chapel

We all rushed to the chapel to make it on time, and I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to see inside. The chapel was so beautiful! The ceiling was a masterpiece, designed to give a feeling of grandness and space, and the chandeliers were stunning.

The pastor took his time to make everyone feel right at home. Ramone could not take his gaze off Shannon as she entered the chapel, and I could feel his heart racing. The vows were beautifully shared, and before we knew it, the first kiss was announced.

A Reception at Cappeny Estates, Ballito

After the ceremony and some family photos, we headed off to Ballito for the reception at Cappeny Estates, a strawberry farm. The décor and setup outside the venue were exquisite, with a local singer entertaining the guests, canapés being served and the photo booth busy with guests taking snaps with their loved ones. Couches were everywhere and the vibe was lovely!

Inside was a sight to behold. Lee-Anne outdid herself with a banquet of flowers, golden plates, perspex table numbers and crystal glasses everywhere. You could see this couple went all out to celebrate their love for each other.

Bridal Party Portraits by the Dam

After capturing the reception and décor, I took the retinue to the dam for photos. The light was perfect and we had a great time together.

A First Dance to Start the Party

The retinue’s entrance kicked off with the first dance. It’s always nice when my couples bend the rules of tradition! The reception was filled with laughter, and the speeches always had someone shedding a tear, especially Shannon’s mom. It was so special to see all the love everyone had for the couple.

After a delicious meal, we got down to the garter and bouquet toss, with the DJ turning up the heat on the dance floor. It was a night none of us will forget! I would just like to thank Shannon and Ramone for entrusting such a special day to our hands, and we wish them only success in their future together.
